Fourth of July in Williamsburg.

There is probably no place better to celebrate July 4th, America’s Independence Day, than at the Colonial Capitol, Williamsburg, Virginia.

Come and enjoy a day of fun, food, music and fireworks.

Start the day off at 9:30am with Thomas Jefferson Reading the Declaration of Independence at the Capitol in the Colonial Williamsburg Historic Area.

At 10am, Enjoy the Salute to the States. This is s special militia muster saluting the 13 original states. The Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums will play, the flags will be displayed and the muskets and cannons will celebrate this day!

Enjoy your day, grab some lunch at one of Williamsburg’s new restaurants, The Amber Ox Public House, a great food and regional beer place!

Grab your spot in the Historic Area, with the best viewing in the Palace area, and spread out your chairs and blankets.

At 4pm, walk over to the Lawn of the Arts Museum of Colonial Williamsburg where you can enjoy an Independence Day Summer Breeze Concert.

Enjoy food trucks located on Francis Street right across from the lawn!

At 9pm, the Lights of Freedom will start on the Palace Green. A Reading of the Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson and a torch lit procession featuring the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drum.

Enjoy a Audience sing a long of Americana Favorites.

This culminates in the grand fireworks display!
