Jamestown Settlement presents Military Through the Ages

“Military Through the Ages”

One of our favorite weekend events in Jamestown Settlement, Military through the ages,  is coming this weekend!

Hundreds of re-enactors depicting armed forces from the first century A.D. to modern times will come together on Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19, 2017, for Jamestown Settlement’s “Military Through the Ages” event.

This display of military history features re-enactors showing how weapons, uniforms and military tactics evolved over time. Separate areas with field communications and medical treatment during this time offer visitor interaction. This is a great family event and visitors are encouraged to interact with the re-enactors.

A Variety of Miltary equipment and vehicles are on hand.

Re-enactors demonstrate how soldiers attired and armed themselves, as well as how they were fed and housed in times of war.

A highlight of this year’s event will be the centennial observance of America’s entry into World War I.

Weekend highlights include artillery firings, a Saturday children’s parade and a Sunday military pass-in-review.

Merchants also will be on hand to sell reproduction wares.

Jamestown Settlement admission is $17.00 for adults and $8.00 (ages 6-12). Children under 6 are free. Free parking. Combination ticket available with the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown: $23.00 adults, $12.00 ages 6-12.
