Debbie Keane
Debbie Keane is originally a New York Girl.. Born in the Bronx, NY and raised in the burbs, she now calls the South her home in Williamsburg, Va. Debbie started her career as a Registered Nurse in NY where she eventually commuted daily to Manhattan. Nursing was her dream and loved every minute of it. Caring for people was my calling. Whoever dreamed in her twenties and early thirties that she would eventually go into the hospitality business and start a second career!
John was born in Long Island NY where he grew up until after he graduated college. Working in Manhattan in the treasurer’s department of a large corporation, he gained a great background in business finance. He met Debbie in Manhattan, and they just knew they had found their soulmates. Married a year later, he knew children were in their future and they both decided to get out of their current positions and start a new life as Innkeepers.
They both quit their jobs, sold their home and went into the Inn business.
They both love to travel and used much of their experiences to develop the perfect mix to offer to our guests. Elegant but casual, spotlessly clean with a warm and inviting atmosphere.
As Debbie always says….It isn’t much different from the nursing profession. I took care of sick people for years, now I take care of happy, healthy people.
Debbie and John have been running their current Inn in Williamsburg for the past 25 years and neither of them can even think about retirement.
They have worked together building a 9 room Inn where they both have their special strengths. Debbie loves to cook and handles all the reservations and computer work. John loves to stay busy with maintenance and handles the finance part of the job.
The Inn has been a member of the Chamber & Tourism Alliance for over 20 year and is a Trip Advisor Travelers Choice Award Member with 5 stars. They have been awarded numerous awards over the past 25 years. From Williamsburg Beautification to the VA Coastal “Best Bed and Breakfast” Award for the past 6 years.
Debbie and John raised their 3 children at the Inn and hope someday that one or more of them will take over if she ever decides to stop doing what she loves.
